About

Hi! I’m Emily Carter, the person behind Dreamy Home Studio.

I believe a beautiful home isn’t about following every trend or striving for perfection. It’s about creating spaces that feel comfortable, functional, and uniquely yours.

Although my academic background is in plant science rather than interior design, I’ve always been fascinated by how thoughtfully designed spaces can influence the way we live. Over the years, that curiosity grew into a passion for home styling, color palettes, gardening, and creating interiors that feel both beautiful and practical.

I’m married to my husband, who owns a home construction company, so design and home improvement have naturally become part of our daily lives. From discussing floor plans and building materials to exploring the latest interior trends, we’re constantly exchanging ideas about what makes a home both timeless and livable.

We live in Austin, Texas, where new construction, modern architecture, and beautiful outdoor spaces provide endless inspiration. Living in a city that’s continually evolving has given me the opportunity to observe how design trends change while also appreciating the timeless principles that never go out of style.

My journey into home decor started with a love for gardening. As I filled my home with plants, I began paying closer attention to everything around them, how color, texture, lighting, furniture, and layout worked together to create a cohesive space. I quickly realized that the most inviting homes aren’t built by buying expensive furniture; they’re created through thoughtful planning and intentional design choices.

That passion inspired me to create Dreamy Home Studio.

At Dreamy Home Studio, I share room-by-room decorating ideas, seasonal inspiration, gardening tips, and practical styling advice to help you create a home that reflects your personality and lifestyle.

Whether you’re decorating a single room or your entire home, I hope you’ll find ideas here that inspire you to create a space you truly love.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy decorating!
